Blo Blow Dry Bar is one of several exciting retailers making its debut at The Coloradan and it is much more than just a place to go for a blow out. We interviewed Christopher Leno, Franchise Partner, from Blo to learn more about this very cool concept coming to LoDo.
The Coloradan: Tell me a little bit about Blo. How did you get started with them?
Christopher: Blo Blow Dry Bar, North America’s original blow dry bar, was founded in 2007 in Toronto. In 2009, Blo began franchising and now has over 100 locations making it the world’s largest blow dry bar franchise. Our motto is: “You’re not cheating on your hairdresser” and yes, we’re serious! No cuts, no color: just wash, blow, go. We also offer beauty services and an array of retail products such as Unite and Glo Skin Beauty. My partner, John, and I wanted to seize the opportunity to bring new brands to Boulder and Denver. Everyone wants to come to Colorado because they see the value in the diversity of its people and industries. We moved here because we wanted to be in a city that could support a multitude of brands with room to incorporate additional locations in the future.
The Coloradan: For someone who has never been to Blo Blow Dry Bar before, how would you describe what their first experience would be like?
Christopher: We are all about customizing the experience to each individual’s needs. Before you begin, you’ll have a brief consultation with a stylist (also known as a Bloer) to ensure you walk out with the perfect style for you and your occasion. From there, it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy a hair transformation. In roughly 45 minutes, you’ll walk out with flawlessly styled hair each and every time. We have a full menu of pre-set styles ranging from a simple blow out to an elegant up do. Other services available are temporary hair extensions, make-up, and eyelash extensions. We know that everyone has different schedules, so we’ll be open 7 days a week to accommodate everyone we can.
The Coloradan: What makes you most excited about opening a location in the heart of downtown Denver and joining The Coloradan retail community?
Christopher: We’re thrilled to be coming to the Union Station neighborhood, as we’ve watched this area thrive over the last couple of years and we see an opportunity to provide a service currently not available in the immediate area. While there’s a broad community of owners, renters, workers and visitors that we’re looking forward to serving, we’re equally excited to be joining a slew of other well known, top-notch retailers coming to The Coloradan. We believe they all have a wonderful reputation and loyal followers, so being in the same building, we feel that we’ll complement the services they each provide. Lastly, we look forward to the potential of creating great partnerships with all of our neighbors.
